The Lodge

Williston Lodge is a traditionally styled log cabin. It’s hand hewn pine logs showcase the wood’s natural beauty. The Lodge could be considered both a feat of engineering and a work of art.
The great room, with its cozy stone fireplace, is the perfect place to relax after an active day. Perhaps you will enjoy a drink at the hand-crafted bar. Our restaurant offers memorable dinners in an intimate atmosphere.

The campfire is an important part of life at Williston Lake Resort. At the end of long summer days, we meet around the fire pit to share stories of the day’s adventures and forge plans for the coming day. If you can pull yourself way from this place of good cheer and good food, lie back on the grass and gaze up at the starry sky. If you are lucky, you may also enjoy the majesty of the flickering northern lights.

Sun Deck

The sun drenched deck offers a breathtaking view of Williston Lake and Mount Gething.

Conference room

While many our guests visit the Lodge for adventure or solitude, we can also host up to 40 people for business meetings or private parties. We can take care of any catering requirements. For a true retreat, consider renting the entire lodge.

Rooms / Suites

In one of her six standards and three Economy rooms, in one of two suites -The junior suite and The Family suite which are bright and comfortable you will feel immediately at home. All rooms are furnished tastefully and the standard comfort of High speed Internet access, which is free.

All suites are equipped, in addition, with a Jacuzzi bathtub as well as a comfortable living-room furniture.

Restaurant

In our restaurant you are spoiled in the evening with the European and Canadian cuisine. Our lusciousness passes from nouvelle-cuisine in a Candlelight dinner up to the cowboy's goulash in the campfire. Our Chef is always prepared to surprise his guests with extravagant and season-appropriate menus. He uses only fresh products, if always possibly. Daily we offer beside the varied card a Day-Special-Menu.

The restaurant from which you have a fantastic view of the lake and the mountains orders more than 24 seats and can be also used for seminars or company meetings.

Deep muscle Massage

Horseback Riding

Our ranch is home to a dozen horses. Their year-round pasture lies between the Lodge and Williston Lake.

Having you ever dreamed of living the life of a cowboy or cowgirl? Would you like to explore untouched wilderness from the back of a horse? We offer everything from half-day rides to day expeditions, all led by experienced guides.

From greenhorn to old cowpoke, we offer something for everybody. Don’t worry if your only experience with horses comes from Black Stallion books. We offer instruction allowing you to safely enjoy any of our expeditions.

4 hours guided

Starting from the ranch, you will the follow in the footsteps of natives and explorers though on the coast of Williston Lake. You stop on a nice bay to enjoy a packed lunch, and share stories of the wild west.

Half day guided

Starting from our base camp west of the ranch, you explore the Dunlevy Valley. You crossing 4 creeks and enjoy a packed lunch on a nice remote place in th wilderness. This area is often referred to as the Serengeti of the North, due to the diversity of wild animals. Bear, deer, elk, moose, and beavers are frequently seen

1 day trip

This trip also starts at our base camp in the beautiful Dunlevy Valley. You ride deep into the untouched wilderness and have a packed lunch by an old cabin. This area is often referred to as the Serengeti of the North, due to the diversity of wild animals. Bear, deer, elk, moose, and beavers are frequently seen.

Fishing

The rivers and lakes of Peace River valley abound with rainbow trout, lake trout, kokanee, dolly varden, and northern pike.

Our certified guide will accompany you on your 1 day fishing trip. Our guides know Williston Lake and nearby rivers like the back of their hands. If you haven’t been fishing in a while, our guides would be happy to offer a few tips. They might even be convinced to share a few local secrets. We take our Bayliner 29 ' " Trohpy" for all our fishing expeditions.

All fishing gear is provided. Lunch is included with day trips.

Canoe Tours

Whether you want to enjoy the tranquillity of a quiet lake or follow the path of Alexander Mackenzie down the mighty Peace River, we have a tour for you!

Here two examples for your own trip (not guided):

1 day trip

We will launch your canoe from Hudson’s Hope. You will paddle down the aptly named Peace River, past towering cliffs and idyllic islands. With any luck, you’ll be able to cook a fish you’ve caught for lunch. After a long day, we transport you back to the Lodge for a good night’s sleep (on request).

2 day trip

Hope begins in Hudson´s Hope also the 2 day trip. Instead of exploring the pretty islands only in daylight, you can spend the night under free sky in the campfire, listen in to the noises of the night and feel united with the nature. During the second day it goes further by the Peace River valley.In the half-way River we await you again and it goes back in the Lodge.

What a great way to explore the Canadian winter! A twist on a traditional Canadian activity, snowshoe running is a workout like no other. Or if you prefer, slow down and enjoy the tranquillity of the snowy woods.

Come and experience the crisp sunny days in our snowy paradise. Whether it’s your first time on skis or you travel the world searching for perfect powder, we have something for you. For beginners, our house ski hill, Portage Mountain is minutes away. The aptly named Powder King, with some of Canada’s best snow, is just a two hour drive. Or for the ultimate rush join one of our heliskiing expeditions.

Ice Fishing

If you’ve always wanted to try ice fishing, we’d be happy to introduce you to this rewarding hobby. Travel by foot or snowmobile to reach your fishing hole. Our chef will be happy to cook your catch for dinner.

The Area

Here you can watch all these animals far away from which also in Canada observe starting mass tourism, in their natural surrounding area. 

Directly in front of our Lodge mule deer, whitetail deer wapiti elk and moose quiet often graze peacefully. You will experience amazing moments, full of peace.

Hudson's Hope is named after Canada’s oldest company, the Hudson’s Bay Company. HBC fur traders were the first Europeans to explore western Canada and meet its Native Peoples.

For a wider range of services, Fort St. John is a 1.5 hour drive from the Resort. It has major supermarkets, department stores, and a full service airport. Be sure not to miss the indoor swimming pool and its water slides. Fun for young and old alike.
